Board of Directors

Michael Andrews

Non-Executive Chairman

Dr Michael Andrews is a geologist with more than 35 years of research and mining industry experience in gold, copper, coal and iron exploration. He holds an honours degree in Geology from the University of Reading, and a doctorate in Exploration Geochemistry from the University of Wales. Dr Andrews is currently President and COO of Southern Arc Minerals Inc and a Non-Executive Director of Japan Gold Corp, public exploration companies listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange. Dr Andrews was a Founding Director of Kingsrose Mining and played an instrumental role in the discovery, exploration, feasibility and development of its Way Linggo Gold Mine in Indonesia and he has been closely involved with the development of a number of other gold mines in Southeast Asia. Dr Andrews previously held the positions of Executive Director and Chief Geologist of AuIron Energy Ltd., Director of Gold Operations for Meekatharra Minerals Ltd, and managed the Teck Corporation-MM Gold Indonesian Joint Venture, an exploration portfolio of thirteen gold and copper projects, and also held senior exploration positions with Ashton Mining Ltd, Aurora Gold Ltd and Muswellbrook Energy and Minerals. Dr Andrews is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.
John Carlile

Non-Executive Director

Mr John Carlile is a geologist with over 35 years’ experience in major and junior resources companies with a proven track-record of discovery, project acquisitions, and growth of public companies. Mr Carlile led Newcrest’s presence in Indonesia and grass-roots discovery of Gosowong high-grade Epithermal gold-silver deposit. Previously as member of BHP-Utah’s World Metals Group, he was involved in evaluation of acquisition and exploration opportunities in a number of countries including Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Morocco, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and Japan. He has extensive experience in Indonesia, has a good command of the language and has co-authored several geological publications on mineralisation in the volcanic arcs of Indonesia. Mr Carlile is currently a Non-executive Director of Southern Arc Minerals Inc., a Director and Executive Vice President of Japan Gold Corp. and Principal of JEM Resources Limited.
Fabian Baker 

Managing Director

Mr Fabian Baker is a geologist with more than 12 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry. Mr Baker was the founder and CEO of Tethyan Resource Corp (“Tethyan”), a TSX Venture Exchange listed company. He led Tethyan’s entry into Serbia and neighbouring Balkan countries, identifying and negotiating the acquisition of a number of significant gold, copper and base metal advanced exploration assets. He was also responsible for building and leading a highly professional exploration team active throughout the Balkan region. In 2020 Tethyan was successfully acquired by Adriatic Metals Plc, a company listed on the ASX and LSE.
Mr. Baker’s positions prior to Tethyan include that of Chief Geologist at Lydian International, where he was an integral part of the team which proved up the + 4 million ounce gold resource and completed the feasibility study on the major Amulsar gold deposit in Armenia. He was also Exploration Manager for Royal Road Minerals in Turkey. He has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from the Camborne School of Mines

Daryl Corp

Non-Executive Director

Mr Daryl Corp is an experienced mining executive with over 40 years in the minerals industry in a wide range of both corporate and operational roles. This has involved base metals, iron ore and precious metals projects and operations, both in Australia and offshore. Commencing his career as a graduate mining engineer in Broken Hill he moved to a role as Senior Mining Engineer with a small gold and base metals company before joining Newcrest Mining Limited in mid-1990. Whilst at Newcrest he progressed through technical roles to more senior roles where he developed broader corporate skills, holding a range of positions including Transformation Executive – Business Development, General Manager – ExCo Co-ordination and Projects, Head of Ore Reserves Governance, General Manager – Corporate Affairs, and Manager – Business Development. Mr Corp managed feasibility studies for several underground gold mine developments and well as initial studies for both the Cadia Hill and Ridgeway mines. He was responsible for delivering permits required for development of the Gosowong Gold Mine in Indonesia, remaining with the project as Project Manager – Mining during the construction and early operations at Gosowong. Mr Corp holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Geoscience from Macquarie University. He is a Fellow of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Andrew Cooke

Non-Executive Director

Mr Andrew Cooke holds a law degree from Sydney University and has extensive experience in law, corporate finance, governance and compliance. He has over 30 years of boardroom experience and has developed a practical blend of legal and commercial acumen. He has served as a consultant to listed, public and private companies in the resources, property, mining services, technology and biotech sectors focussing on stock exchange, capital raisings, regulatory compliance and a wide range of corporate transactions. Much of his work has been focused on the resource sector where he has worked closely with exploration, mining and oil and gas companies in Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.
Tim Coughlin

Non-Executive Director 

Mr Tim Coughlin is an exploration geologist with over 30 years’ experience exploring for gold, copper, base metals and oil in Australasia, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Tim was responsible for discovery of Amulsar gold deposit in Armenia and founder of
Lydian International. Tim is also responsible for the discovery of new gold deposits in Peru and Armenia. He has held senior positions with major companies including Chief Geologist South America for AngloGold Ashanti, and listed two successful exploration companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange. 
Tim is currently CEO and President of Latin-America focused Royal Road Minerals (TSX.V:RYR).

Joanna Kiernan

Company Secretary

Ms Joanna Kiernan is a governance professional with over 16 years’ experience in the administration and operation of listed public companies, predominately in the resources sector having previously held the position of Company Secretary for numerous ASX, AIM and SGX listed companies.
Mark Smith

Chief Financial Officer

Mr Mark Smith is an experienced executive with more than 20 years in financial and operational roles within the mining industry. Previous roles include CFO and Group Financial Controller for Centamin PLC (formerly Centamin Egypt Limited), a company listed on the LSE and TSX stock exchanges. At Centamin, Mark played an integral role in the development, construction and operation of the Sukari Gold Project as well as establishing exploration operations in Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire. Mark has also held the positions of Commercial Manager for Endeavour Mining Ltd (TSX and ASX) and Lihir Gold Ltd (ASX, NASDAQ and TSX) both of which operated producing gold assets in West Africa. Mark holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from the University of Queensland, is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, and a Chartered Company Secretary.
Andrew Tunningley

Head of Exploration

Mr Andrew Tunningley is a geologist with 20 years’ experience in exploration for a diverse range of precious and base metal deposits in Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and the Americas. He has held senior management positions with exploration companies and consultancy firms, including senior geologist with Ivanhoe Mines in Mongolia and China, and Exploration Manager for Tethyan Resource Corp and Adriatic Metals in Eastern Europe. His experience includes design and execution of exploration and mineral resource estimation programs, technical due diligence of business development opportunities, building and managing project teams across different technical disciplines, and implementation of quality control and data management procedures. Andrew is a Member and Chartered Professional (Geology) of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.
Peter Dodds

Exploration Manager

Mr Peter Dodds is an economic geologist with 10 years of mineral exploration experience, managing exploration field programs across Scandinavia and Greenland and exploring for a wide range of base and precious metal deposit types, with a particularly focus on sulphide nickel-copper projects. After beginning his career working for Anglo American on the Sakatti Ni-Cu-PGE discovery, Northern Finland, he has spent the past six years providing geological consulting services to the exploration industry, running JV projects between private explorers and mining companies including OZ Minerals, and Centerra Gold. Peter holds a Masters degree in Exploration and Resource Geology from Cardiff University, is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Scott Spurrier

Exploration Geologist

Mr Scott Spurrier is a geologist with 5 years’ experience in early to resource stage base and precious metals exploration across Europe and Africa. He was a key member of the Tethyan Resources team which built out the Raska District in Serbia and led to its acquisition by Adriatic Metals. Scott continued with Adriatic Metals in the position of Project Geologist, designing and implementing exploration programs in Serbia, and later focusing on regional exploration around Adriatic’s flagship polymetallic Rupice deposit, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Birmingham, a Master of Science in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London.
